Participatory performance where the Saudi Flag is reimagined on a السبورة (Chalkboard) and taken through the streets of Al Balad, Jeddah. Passersby were invited to draw, reflect, and create, allowing the artist to observe commonalities and shared iconography rooted in collective experiences.
This work is part of the series Emancipatory Lands, which explores geopolitical iconography through communal objects activated by collective gestures in public spaces. Working from rural and urban environments between the East and the West hemispheres, Emancipatory Lands intervene in the architectural imagery of states, nations, and other forms of governmental territories; aiming for emancipatory based on a social, environmental, and pedagogical approach to the land.
