Performance where a group of people raises a Two Poles Flag with their bodies;
transforming the official ceremony of erecting a nation-state flag, into a playful exchange with a borderless object that relays horizontally through people and landscape.
This work is part of the series Emancipatory Lands, a cross-media project to transform geopolitical symbols into communal structures; reimagining political identities through collective gestures in public spaces. Working from rural and urban environments between the East and the West hemispheres, Emancipatory Lands intervene in the architectural imagery of states, nations, and other forms of governmental territories; aiming for emancipatory based on a social, environmental, and pedagogical approach to the land.
